Recently bought new 357/20 ga combo for $300. Read up and down this site and others prior to purchase and since purchase. Took some of the advice from gbo regarding barrel break-in and scope mounting. Mounted a 1.5-4.5 bushnell elite firefly. Bore sighted and took it out for a test run. placed target @ about 35 yards, shot off tailgate with sandbag and had first two shots basically go through the same hole+/-3mm. Adjusted scope to bullseye, moved target to 60 yds and basically shot sub 1" group with the next several rounds. Moved target to 80+ yards and shot sub 1" groups. I'm not a good shot, but it was no effort to shoot really well with this 357 rifle. Shooting 180gr Federal factory ammo SJHP. Very pleased with trigger pull, recoil, report, and overall ease of use. I'm looking forward to running some more varieties of 180gr ammo through it (plan on hunting whitetails in PA and WV with this rifle), and truly enjoyed the simplicity, efficiency, and effectiveness of this rifle. Pretty pumped about the ballistics this thing can get out of the 357 and 22" barrell. Years ago used a Marlin 1894 with a 18" barrell in 357 with great success on WT deer at standard PA and WV hunting ranges (typically less than 100 yds).
