Will Rem. make .357 Classic Carbine?
« on: January 17, 2010, 05:20:23 AM »
Given the popularity and success of this chambering in the past, has anyone heard if they will do the smart thing and make this in the Classic configuration? For them it should be a bolt on, no trouble at all.
Or, hey, how about this one as the 'forum gun'?

If they do the folks on here will just buy them up and turn 90% of them into .357 Max effectively ruining them for folks who actually appreciate the .357 Mag for what it is. ::)

Hey GB, I too think the 357 M has more case capacity than I need. Id prefer to see a chamber with the proper length to seat a 180gr'er out to the rifling while in a 38Spl case, but thats just me.
That said, it has proven to be quite the platform already so if they would give us all a choice of stocks to suit individual preferences (and for me thats the classic) I think they would sell.
Aint that the business they're in?

I'd just like to find a 357 without having to buy the combo 20ga barrel that seems to be rem's marketing scheme for the past year. I've yet to see a solo 357 4-sale at Bud's or anywhere else. And maybe I'm just not looking hard enough. Been known to happen. -g

Bud's has had the SB1 357 and 44mags in stock several times over the last year, but they didn't last long at $207.  :-\
