Trophies do not have to be big...
« on: December 04, 2009, 03:04:47 PM »
took me 5 days to finally pick this little guy off. ;D
Had to swap from my air rifle back to my 17Hm2.
I had his pattern down and even had to change to
a different camo. He kept vanishing in the same tree,
must have been a hole in it. This time when he started
tapping trees, I didn't follow him. I knew where he was going.
I focused on one particular limb I knew he would use and
waited. sure enough he used it and I tagged him.
I have had easier time with whitetail than with this squirrel.
It was almost like he knew the range of my airgun and
stayed jusy outside it. He was a worthy opponent
So I am paying tribute to him.. 8)

Bet the little sucker is going to be too tough to eat
just to spite me! ;)

You are right!! I was hunting our doe season last weekend when I got this one!! I need to start carrying some bird shot when I am carrying the shotgun!! I tried to hit him with the slug to do minimal damage. But, as you can imagine it blew a big hole in his chest. I will be tanning it and hang it on the wall!!! Everybody I have shown has never seen one!!!
