New member here. Enjoy reading all the great info and have learned a great deal.
I have a question for those more knowledgable than I. On the 788, I see two different types of rear sights. They look very similar except one has a plastic "skirt" under the sight that touches the ring between the barrel and receiver. The other plastic "skirt" is shorter and stops short of the receiver, leaving a gap of may an inch or more.
Are these two sights interchangable or were they used differently on different calibers or barrel weights? (Not even sure if Rem used different barrel weights on the 788)
