Ithaca brand rifled barrels
« on: October 14, 2003, 07:33:24 AM »
Does anyone have any experience with these?  I see that a place here is selling them for the 870 for under $160...fully rifled with a cantilever mount.  Seems like a good deal to me.

Can anyone tell me this isn't a good deal?

Wanting to hear some responses on this myself.  Cabela's has an Ithaca rifled barrel for a Browning Gold for $150.  That is way better than Brownings $400.  Hope someone has tried them.

I bought a fully rifle barrel w/ cantilever mount for my Browning BPS back in 1998 from Hastings. I forget the price, but the barrel is fairly accurate.  Getting 1.5" groups at 50 yards from bench.  Standing shooting freehand, my groups open to 4-5" at 50 yards.

Nice thing about the cantelever mount is that scope seems to hold it's zero fairly well even after barrel being removed and put back.  Only needed minor adjustments.
