HELLO--- FIRST POST
« on: November 24, 2009, 02:03:25 PM »
Hello everyone. Have been a member for a while, been 'lurking' but never posted till now. I have 1 Handi, a .357 that has taken one 'yote so far.
It is a truck gun and goes to the farm daily. I recently decided to "maximize" it and PM'd Quick to get on the reamer list. Have started collecting the components----man, those heavy .357 bullets are hard to find-----maybe need to start casting?
I understand many members here call themselves Handi-holics. Is laying wake at night thinking about what Maxi load to try, getting upset when the gunshops have no single shots on the rack and having debates with yourself on what the next caliber needs to be a sign of a future addiction?
I don't have a problem---I can quit anytime I want to---I can quit anytime I want to---

First off Welcome!
Second is the addiction has already started, you have 1.
They are like LAYS potato chips, You just can't have one!
It just ain't civilized.
Good news, it does get better.
Once you get up to say 5 or 6 then you no longer care about the symptoms, you just go on living day to day.
It's kind of like a junkie and his dope, you are just looking for your next fix!
Don't worry, it won't kill you but it can make you feel sick when you miss that deal that was just to good to pass up.
You will know what I mean when you finally reach the top and become a certified Handi nut like some of us have.
I think the magic number is around 25 or 30.
Glad you finally made that first post.
Keep them coming.

Retired, farmin, ranchin, huntin.  That's where I am too.  Welcome, brother!!  Since we all recognize the disease in it's early stages, here's a way to make it less painful.  Always put a barrel on its own dedicated frame....not changeing them around.  Less hassle, better consistency and minimizes the chance of putting a high pressure barrel on a SB1 frame.  It also makes the plague easier to deal with....you pick up a barrel here, a frame there, and a stock set somewhere else.....no single, big, traumatic impact.  It makes you almost believe you're normal. :o
