Just went through that Ed. The USH 12 ga is built on the 10 ga Sb2. The opening is slightly larger than the Rifle SB2, to allow the 10ga size barrel to fit. And of course, it has a shotgun size firing pin.
Otherwise, the two are the same.
You can fit a rifle barrel in. I did it by glass bedding the receiver to properly align the barrel.
The other issue is the firing pin. It may work fine, mine did. Or you may get some primer flow and make opening the receiver difficult. If that happens and you just have to use the receiver, you can either install a bushing or weld the hole and install the smaller firing pin. I didn't have to do that so I'm not sure if you have to replace the transfer bar parts as well. I doubt you would.
