NEF Slug guns mentioned in Field and Stream article this month

Article in F&S about slug gun shooting competitions.  The author stated that he used a NEF and praised the workmanship and accuracy.

It's nice to see that someone, other than the crazy people who are here ;D ;D,  like these guns as well as we do.

Anyone else read the article?

Yup, good read, Bourjaily described it as a favorite, accurate and inexpensive. A perfect description of an H&R!!  ;D

I can tell you, the more I shoot mine, the more impressed I am. To start off, they just look powerful ;D. I pulled the electronic scope off of my serious busine shotgun since it has a laser too, and mounted it on one of the slug guns. It's perfect and ...No Scope Eye, yet.

I'm shooting hard cast 520 gr Lyman Sabot slugs in front of 100 grains of  RE17 and they are right on the money at 50 yards. Haven't really worked with them at 100 yet. IF...I can find a 3.5" reamer, it should be a much better shooter. That will let me add a gas seal and go up to 110 grains of RE17.

Quite a gun for the money. I love it now that I quit reading anything H&R publishes ;D
