How-N-Where to install sling studs on Buffalo Classic
« on: October 15, 2009, 11:40:58 AM »
My Buffalo Classic 45-70 came without sling studs.  Academy had an Uncle Mikes swivels and studs set.  The studs are a machined "Bolt" and a screw with "Wood Screw" threads.

Where exactly do I install the stud in the fore-stock without contacting the barrel?

Where do I use the "Machine Screw" and the "Wood Screw"?

Or, should I use a different set of studs altogether??

How do I remove the fore-stock?

The forearm comes off by unscrewing the bolt holding it on.  Never saw the Uncle Mike's set, but I imagin the "bolt" replaces the original bolt holding on the forearm, and the wood screw screws into the stock wherever you want it to.

Do you really want to put swivels on a Buffalo Classic?  It might look better if you got one of the type slings that slips over the butt stock and fastens at the front.  Primitive suppliers have these for Black Powder rifles.  This is just my opinion and it is your rifle, so I am sure you will fix it the you like.  I fixed my BC the way I wanted.  Have fun.
