Savage Accustock
« on: October 09, 2009, 04:57:41 PM »
I picked up a new weather warrior in 25-06 last week with the new accustock. I must say this is a masterpiece in my opinion. It shoots awesome but what's new, it's a savage right. The one thing I noticed is even after following the proper sequence for torquing down the stock you should check the action screws after the first couple of shots. It seems that they will need snugging up just a little after the first couple of shots. After that though they are rock solid.

Yes I bought a Savage 11FcNs with the same stock .

If you take off the action your asked retighten the three screws from front to back in increments of 10 inch pounds until  a value of 40 to 45 inch pounds have been obtained .Because the reciever is wedged in the stock it would make sense to recheck the torque again after a few outings .
Now do I want to buy a fat wrench or a inch pound torque wrench to do this ?Guess I could afford this !! ;)
I also found out - to wipe a barrel off and coat the barrel with a firm of oil or car wax what ever one prefers you can get a thin rag between the stock and barrel since the barrel it's self is free floated .

All this on the web sight but you got to look for it .
