PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION ON...TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS!!!!!

 

THE RECENT TRAGEDY OF A YOUNG WOMAN BEING KIDNAPPED AND EVENTUALLY KILLED;AFTER SHE HAD REPEATEDLY GIVEN THE KIDNAPPER A WRONG PIN TO HER ATM CARD. IF SHE KNEW THE METHOD BELOW, SHE COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED. SO I THINK IT IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO LET YOU KNOW. HERE YOU GO...

 

IF YOU SHOULD EVER BE FORCED BY A ROBBER TO WITHDRAW MONEY FROM AN ATM MACHINE, YOU CAN NOTIFY THE POLICE BY ENTERING YOUR PIN # IN REVERSE.

FOR EXAMPLE IF YOUR PIN NUMBER IS 1234 THEN YOU WOULD PUT IN 4321.

THE ATM RECOGNIZES THAT YOUR PIN NUMBER IS BACKWARDS FROM THE ATM CARD YOU PLACED IN THE MACHINE. THE MACHINE WILL STILL GIVE YOU THE MONEY YOU REQUESTED, BUT UNKNOWN TO THE ROBBER, THE POLICE WILL BE IMMEDIATELY DISPATCHED TO HELP YOU.

 

THIS INFORMATION WAS RECENTLY BROADCASTED ON FOX TV AND IT STATES THAT IT IS SELDOM USED BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T KNOW IT EXISTS.

Yeah right. Police dispatched IMMEDIATELY fat chance of that. In most places you'd be lucky to see them within an hour.

Snopes is a low grade source of information and cannot be trusted. I did a quick search on this and it looks like that myth has been debunked by others.

Snopes is nothing but a man and his wife running a site not so different than we do here at GBO except in their case they claim to debunk rumors and sustantiate truth.  ::) In reality tho they are just as opinionated and biased as any of us and in no way are they authorities.  :o They do I guess spend a good deal of time searching the internet and we all know what a beacon of truth the internet is.  ;D

First off,
Thanks to all for confirming my thoughts that snoops is just someones else's opinion!

Second,
I wish that these rumors would have a date on them so people would know that they have been around the block so to speak and if they were true we would have heard about it by now.

Thereis a secret number that will alert the police to a theft taking place. It differs from place to place and company to company. It is used by the armoured car people that fill the ATM.

You know this maybe false but it would be one f the Best things I ever heard of
If it was somehow connected to a 911 for just the Location
It would /Could save lives in many ways
If your at an ATM and trouble arises no cell phone its in you truck parked behind you
You hit the reverse button and the man is called at the very least they maybe able to
view the bank tapes at that time ( I know that would be a day late ) but it may save
the perp or what ever it was that was bad enough for you to hit 911
I think it should be looked into by the Banking co.'s
