My little 7.62x39 handy put this hog to sleep this morning. She ran maybe 15 yards before she hit a tree running full out. Its the handi's first hog. I just had to share with you guys.

Nice looking hog. I like the x39 too, it's a good all around cartridge.
Thanks for sharing. ;D

What kind of groups are you guys shooting with your 7.62x39's at 100 yards??

Mine shot the best with factory rem umc. Under a inch, might shoot 1/2". But i had lots of missfires. I reload now, i use rem small primer bass with 123gr .308 lead. I get right at an inch now. I have tried the 123gr .311 But they both shot a 1" to 1 1/4 group. I need to work on my load.

I shoot mine (Rossi) with surplus ammo. I can hit clay pigeons at 100 yds. all day long with it. It'll probably shoot a 2-4" group with the surplus at 100 yds. With good ammo I think it would shoot really well.

Do you have any missfires with the surplus ammo?

I've only had 4 or 5 misfires and I've fired probably 300 rds. through it now.
Pulled the hammer again and they fired on the 2nd try.
