loose rear sight
« on: October 07, 2009, 02:59:41 PM »
After shooting my new G2 with 410 vent rib barrel I noticed my rear sight was loose.  How do I tighten it?

remove the elevation screw to reveal the two screws that attach the sight to the barrel.

ctrout, it is a vented rib barrel and the rear sight is a dovetail groove.  The groove is so loose the rear sight will fall out.  I don't know if I'm should dink it to make it tight or glue it in.  I can grab it with my hand and completely remove it because it is so loose.

I always heard you use a prick punch to raise some metal on the bottom of the dovetail then carefully put the sight in.  I have never done it, so that is all I know.
