Price check - A friend wants to sell a M99

A 300 Savage TD M99.  He says 60% finish, good bore, tang sight, made in 1927.  He didn't specify the model letter but I'm gonna ask him.   What would be a fair price?  I've always wanted a rifle in 300 Sav.   :-\
