My Democrat Friends Were Right.........
« on: September 23, 2009, 03:09:24 PM »
would be laughing if I wasn't crying.........

My Democrat friends were right

Much as it pains me to say this, I have to admit it-my Democrat friends were right.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the nation's hope would deteriorate, and sure enough there has been a 20 point drop in the Consumer Confidence Index since the election, reaching a lower point than any time during the Bush administration.

They told me if I voted for McCain, the US would become more deeply embroiled in the Middle East, and now, tens of thousands of additional troops are scheduled to be deployed into Afghanistan.

My Democrat Party friends told me if I voted for McCain, that the economy would get worse and sure enough unemployment is approaching 10 % and the new stimulus packages implemented recently have sent the stock market lower than at any time since the Islamic Terrorists attacks of 9-11.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "crooks" in high ranking positions in Federal government and sure enough, several recent cabinet nominees and Senate appointments revealed resumes of scandal, bribery and tax fraud.

They told me if I voted for McCain, we would see more "Pork at the trough" in Federal government and sure enough, 17,500 "Pork Bills" showed up in Congress since January 2009.

I was also told by my Democrat friends that if I voted for McCain, we would see more deficit spending in Washington D..C. , and sure enough, there has been more spending in just 180 days than all other Presidents together - in the entire history of the good ole USA.

Well I voted for McCain in November and my Democrat friends were right... All of their predictions have come true!

(And I can't even begin to guess how much of this is Sarah Palin's fault!) ::)

I never thought of it that way, but your right I guess.

You should not have voted for McCain.   ;)

Good one rockbilly.  I'll have to remember that for my Dem pals at work. They will get a boot out of that one.

I don't have many Dem friends at all, we would have nothing to talk about & with the people that are my friends I am asking them to quit the Republican losers as I have done.

Well said -- and the bad economy makes it difficult to either contribute or to be active because too many of us are struggling to have shelter and put food on the table.  We wind up depending on the guv'mint to feed us, and that dependency favors a certain breed of politician.

I don't remember any reasoned arguments against McCain by the left. I only recall how he was characterized as old and evil.

I still believe that in the long run we will be better off with Obama as president. He is so bad that people will want him gone, and will demand something better. Had McCain been elected the republicans would have been rewarded for taking a leftist position, and that would have given greater long-term leverage to the left.

Questor, I believe your right. With Obama being in office, it'll bring things to a head faster. McCain would have put off the inevetable for another 4 years.  gypsyman
