38-55 loads
« on: September 08, 2009, 11:12:39 AM »
I started shooting a 38-55 model 94 last year for cowboy rifle silhoutte.  I have a pretty good load using 10.6 gr Unique with a laser cast 240gr .380 bullet.  It got me a national record for the senior long run in pigs this year.  I shot 46 in a row, missed 47 or it wouldn't have been only a senior record but the long run and the senior long run.  Anyway that isn't what this post is about.

I have a Lee 250gr mold that I use an alloy of recycled 22lr lead that I get from my clubs indoor range.  I mix in a handful of tin in a 20 lb pot.  The bullets fill out reallly good and weigh about 257gr.  I can't get that bullet to shoot worth a darn with any load I have tried.

Does anyone use this bullet and what kind of loads will give good 200 meter accuracy?
