What is the difference between a Modle 10 and a 110?
« on: August 14, 2009, 08:45:07 PM »
Can someone tell me the difference between the 10 and the 110?

I am thinking about a Predator in 22-250 in the model 10.

Thanks,

Crabo

What exactly does that mean...and what are the benefits of one over the other?

The short action is for smaller rounds like .223 and the long action is for larger rounds like 30-06.  I'm pretty sure there is no overlap so then there are no pros/cons if you are comparing the same chamberings.  I think the short actions may be a bit lighter but I am not sure on that.

It just depends on what cartridge you desire, so I have listed some examples below.

110 is long action = 25-06 Remington, 270 Winchester, 30-06 Springfield, 7mm Remington Magnum, 300 Winchester Magnum & 338 Winchester Magnum

10 is short action = 204 Ruger, 223 Remington, 22-250 Remington, 243 Winchester, 7mm-08 Remington, 308 Winchester, 270 Winchester Short Magnum & 300 Winchester Short Magnum

I have a 110 I bought in 1970.  It is or was a .243n which is a short action.

I have a 110 that I bought in 1988 that is in 223.  Long action with a block in the magizine to accomidate (sp) short action rounds.

But....yes "10" is designation for short action.
