I thankyou sir.

I've been involved in our struggle here in Georgia since 1988. I wish I could say we were winning, but I frequently feel we're losing ground and only because our own people won't stand up.

That is because anyone who dares to question the correctness of the federal side is instantly labled as a bigot, racist, or hate-monger.  And those, once thrown at someone, stick.

I'm new here, but I will post my thoughts here.

Yes, I wish the south would have won.  In my opinion, slavery would have ended naturally with the invention of mechanical reapers and farm equipment.  The biggest reason I wish the South would have won the war is that I do not believe the South as a nation would have turned its back on God the way the United States has.

I feel the South would have maintained their constitution.  I'm sure that there would have been some power hungry folks who would have tried to do what Lincoln did, but I feel the people of the South would have been strong enough to fight it.

Economically, the South would have been by far the strongest agricultural nation in the world.  This area was blessed by God with many natural resources.  Agriculture would have been the main product for the Southern Nation, but I think we would have had a great base for industry, and with the oil reserves that is off the Gulf Coast, in Arkansas, and in Texas, we could have very possibly been one of the dominant oil producing countries in the world.  We have the best hunting lands in the country.  We have the best catfishing in the country.  I'm born and raised in Mississippi, so I like my catfish.

We can go back even farther, what if we had never broken away from Britain. Later we would have left British control peacefully like Canda and Australia. However we did not. So again I ask (I ask you this question in 1863) Do you want the north or the south to win.........and your answer is??????????

To answer your question properly Yes I wanted the South to do just as it did by following both its high moral standard and its commitment to follow the law of the land. The sword was thrust  on us by Lincoln and his illegal acts. As for me and mine I will never admit that it all worked out for the best as none here know what we might have become if only given the chance.

A side note of some import. It is stated that the greatest revival ever in these United States happened among the Confederate troops when most if not all excepted Christ as their savior. If God stands with us just who will stand against us?
