That revolver looks like a .44 magnum.  Doesn't it?

I have a couple of statements to make about that video:  (1) Now that's a lot of shootin'; (2) Now that's some pretty good shootin'; (3) Now those were some dang good hits on moving game; (4) Yep, looks like s Ruger Super something or another; (5) He can sure move quick for a large sized man.................. and (6)  Yep, that would be some fine handgun huntin' for me......

I enjoyed that video, thanks for sharing the link.  How is he dropping those water buffalo on the spot like that?  The first one appeared to be a head shot.  I assume he's shooting hard cast?

Don't know how much actual hunting was done but thats my idea of shooting game with a handgun.  Looked like a culling operation.

Notice that leather glove on his right hand? first thought is that it keeps the revolver from beating up his fingers/knuckles or maybe it is for taking up some slack from a not so perfect trigger along with letting him apply less pressure to make it break. I really do suspect the finger & knuckle protection though but never practice with a glove as I will always take my right hand glove off (for better feel) when a deer comes down the trail.

Good video. Sure shows you what a .44 mag can do. Looks like he really likes the shoulder shot, and it sure seems to put that kind of game down. I saw a couple of bullet strikes on the off side of the animal too. Interesting to know what he is using for ammo. Those Asian buffalo don't seem to like it much. Let's hope the locals are eating good that day! The last thing a hand to hand / knife / sword fighter needs is carpal tunnel problems, and it's obvious he has shot those guns a lot, so the recoil absorbing glove makes a lot of sense.

Good video. I wish my hunts were that active. Two single action shots from my .357 S&W model 28 and my season was complete and done, with two deer in the freezer. Would have been nice to see a couple buffalo but we are short on them in Texas  :D   Very good shooting, though! Kinda cool he was using open sights.

wish he'd have had some of the old 454 casul big 5/6 hunts on video.  man can shoot.  it does show exactly what a 44 mag will do.

i shot hardcast at my buff i have shot and i will be using either barnes or xtps next.  the last hardcast i shot was the buffalo bore 325 gr at 1525fps but just over 1600 out of my 10" FA. if i shoot reduced loads the hardcast are the way to go or if it's really big like an elephant or rhino, but good lord the xtp 300 grain is where it's at for buff on down if i'm gonna push em hard.  by buff i mean bison or even asiatic buff but for cape buff i think i'd still probably go with the corbon penetrators.

btw the buffalo bore did as advertised.  blew threw and skipped down through the grass about 200 yards downrange.  got compelete penetration on the 4 i hit the last buff with before he went down, and they were pretty rapid fire, the first one had him dead.  had about 4 feet of penetration and an offside shoulder bone blown into about a thousand pieces.  my bud shot his with a 375 HH with 250 grain nosler partions and did the same damage but not all of his left the buff.

most impressive results of the day was my bud that sledgehammered his with bb 435 grain hardcasts from a 45/70.  fast enough to deform the tip to a nice .670 caliber front with 385 grains remaining,  went through 5 feet of vertebrae.

not sure i'd have used a speer though   :o

That was a Redhawk for sure in a lot of the scenes, but does anyone know for sure that it wsn't a hot loaded Redhawk in .45 Colt? You can push one of them right up to the edge of .454 country.

I have a lot of pictures of MR Thompson in various books and magazines. He mostly uses a F/A 83 .454 Casull with a 7.5" barrel. It looked like he was using it on a couple of the animals in the video.
