As much as I don't like it, they're not a federally funded force or really that big a deal. Its a restatement of the DNC's internship program. The RNC has one as well, and college credit is possible (
http://www.gop.com/Internships.htm). Granted Obama 2.0 is probably sexier and more hip, and probably getting more applicants, but look at the population based they're recruiting from. They have a much better marketing staff, that's for sure, and they still have a huge war chest left over from last year, and its a platform on which DNC candidates can stand for no cost as they ramp up for state and local offices.
What bothers me is how flippantly they throw around the term "grassroots." Obama 2.0 is not a grassroots movement, if its funded, organized and executed by an arm of the DNC. Tea Parties, now thats grassroots. Open Carry days ... whenever a bunch of citizens, without the funding and leadership of a national organization, get together to make a statement, that's grassroots.
