My rifle, in .308 Winchester, does not have a cocking indicator on the actions's right side. There is a spring loaded button in the forward section of the trigger guard that must be pushed simultaneously with the Accu-Trigger in order to remove the bolt, but unfortunately the bolt comes out in the cocked position which inhibits further dis-assembly of the bolt to correct the awful cocking action/bolt lift.
The Savage web site manuals all show a right side cocking indicator. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can remove the bolt in the uncocked position, or must I slip the cocking piece after removal?
