« on: October 05, 2009, 08:53:56 AM »
 i have an 30 06 110 savage w 22 inch barrel.. my rnd is 165 fusion ..
this a new gun as my old is the most accurate ive ever owned..
unfortunately im limited to siteing in at 25 yrds..
at that distance i worked until it would dot an i.. then put the next rnd in that hole.. so shes totally and perfectly as i can get ,,,,zeroed at 25 yrds..
what i need to know is where it comes back to zero.. at what distance theoretically..
 the muzzle velocity is 2790...the 100 velocity is 2590...the 200 is2400 and finally the 300 is 2220...
if yall can help me as i need to know how far out ive got a deer covered ... thanks very much..slim

I don't use the prelisted info.....just put your own info into the spots and it will give you want you need...you just need the find the BC of your bullet.

Here is a fusion page that shows a trajectory chart in case you haven't seen it already...perhaps this is close to what you're looking for

It looks to me like you should be about 1" low @ 25 to be sighted in @ 100 then it crosses your 25 yard zero again at about 125 to 130

The facts of life are you really just can't shoot at 25 yards and know anything about what will happen at longer ranges. About the best you can do is to get it on paper at 100 yards and work from there. Anyone telling you otherwise really needs to put in more time on the shooting range and less at the computer.

I have to agree with that.....no matter what data you find.....it still needs to be verified in your environment and conditions.

Experience has taught me that with most bottle neck centerfire rifle rounds I need it to be a tiny bit low at 25 yards to assure it is on an 8.5"x11" target sheet at 100 yards. Now where it will be is anyone's guess as even a tiny error in determining center of group at 25 yards can equate to several inches difference at 100 yards. I generally strive for 0.5" to 0.75" low and dead in line at 25 before moving to 100.

Then at 100 I've had them be anywhere and everywhere on that 8.5"x11" target sheet from that sight setting but just about always it is at least on the sheet. However just to be sure I have a target stand that is four target sheets wide and two high. From experience I usually begin on one of the two inner and lower targets and so far that's always at least had me somewhere on that huge expanse of white paper.
