The center feed savages have been out for sometime! Has anyone had any problem with them! I have the older staggered feed and they work fine for me! But the next one I buy might be the center feed one! Just would like to know peoples responce! Thanks Dale

Most people I've seen say the centerfeeds will actually feed better.

Only problem I've seen is that on some the mag spring is stiff or the feed lips are tight, and it is a little hard to push in the bullets while loading. That usually eases with use though so it's no big deal.

Yes.

My center feed Stevens bolt would skip over the round in the mag 3 out of 5 times when you worked the bolt fast. I just had to bend out the rear of the feed lips a bit to make the rear of the round stick up enough for the bolt to hit it. Not that big of deal really, too bad I was after a 'yote the first time it happened...

The only problem I have had on my .243 FLSS is it is a real treat to load, meaning it sucks. I love the gun and I am sure over time it will get better since it only shoots about 10 or 15 rounds a year through it. The wife uses it to deer hunt so it goes to the range it's checked for accuracy then off to kill a deer. I originally bought her a H&R .308 Ultimate Hunter and she loves it, but when she shot the accutrigger on the savage she looked at me and said you my dear now have a .308 and I have a .243 with a god given trigger ANY QUESTIONS. With my head hung low I said no dear I understand.

My stagger feed works well except I have had a problem with it chipping the plastic tips on some bullets if I'm not careful.  I recently got a chance to mess with a center feed when my grandfather got one.  It seems to work fine.  I didn't notice any problems with it.  Next time I get to shoot it I'll look at it closer and see if it looks like it will have the same tip chipping problem.
