Remington 700 30-06 and 35 Whelen Barrels - HELP!!
« on: August 12, 2009, 09:52:35 AM »
Hi All:

I purchased a mod. 700 on an auction website a while back and am wondering if I got a deal or not.  The guy said he swapped the stock out on a 35 Whelen and a 30-06 action/barrel.  Both are mod. 700's one SPS and other CDL.

I got the 30-06 barrel off of an SPS on a CDL stock that was attached to a 35 Whelen barrel.  I guess my question is IS THAT OK, and are those INTERCHANGEABLE?  Thanks folks!!

Everything you did is perfectly acceptable and all parts should interchange just fine Billy. Just make sure you get the head-spacing correct when the new barrel goes on.
