Prayers sent.  I got a new and improved collar bone with 6 screws in 95. I could not be put to sleep at the time due to a closed head injury, so I laid awake and watched them hold my lung out of the way to put the screws in. Tuff to get through the first month after the surgery but after a few months it worked great.

Or at least owe that much $$ to the hospital.

Good luck Slim. Hope everything goes well and you have a quick, painless, and successful recovery.

Good luck. I need surgery on both shoulders in the worst way but am trying to delay it as long as possible. I'm hoping that as bad as they are they outlast me.

Good luck to you, and I hope for a speedy recovery for you...

I have had surgury 2 times on my left shoulder rotator cuff, 2 times on my right knee, one for all the ligaments torn off the bone and second one for torn meniscus and ACL, and on my smashed finger, blew the whole tip of my finder apart and only had a nerve holding to together... Recovery on shoulder was quick, but knee took a long time..

Gods speed...

Good lucky with your surgery.  My wife is having shoulder surgery on July 1st.  This getting old is not fun.

I was shown x-rays on my knees last week.  One is bone-on-bone and I was told that my walking program is out.  Clearly I will have to hunt closer to the road.

Many years back ran into a hunter who had surgery on his shoulder-lower neck just before season.  Talked to him the evening before the opener.  His had been practicing shooting a .30 MI Carbine one handed.  Be darn if he did not get a small buck.

I was told that most people over sixty have shoulder problem and may need surgery.  Many do not realize it.

rem 700-3 ,what you did makes my surgery sound like a walk in the park...
i don t know why but i thought this was a simple thing...
these pins an screws an stuff make it hurt worse or so it seems..
also i thought id probably be shooting next week..
when i fix something with braces an pins an screws its usually about as strong when im finished,,as the other legs or whatever,, that arn t broke..
grey beard i don t know what to advise you..ive had both shoulders done
an its worth it ,if you are healthy enough to work a couple hrs a day..
but it can be a painful ordeal..if you are right handed ,,you will be surprised what simple things you really have a hard time doing with your left hand..
my left shoulder surgery was not near as intrusive into daily life as the right surgery..
in any case thanks for the prayers and kind thoughts...
yesterday my oldest son an i ended an estrangement that had gone on way to long...
talked for hours and the thought had entered my mind that if i was gonna go on,, due to some mistake on the table..i had accomplished the most important thing  ,,that needed doing..you talk about a happy fathers day,,for both of us..we did it in private ,,an covered a lotta grnd.. ..hes harder headed than i am ,,an thats sayin something..
i am a blessed man today.. thanks again ,,slim

Hope you're doing well. I broke a collar bone several years ago. It was almost 5 years before I stand the recoil of anything greater than a 20 ga. shotgun without pain that went through and through.

Sounds like your surgery went well.  I happy to hear you re-established a relationship with your son.  It's a shame it took a surgery to do it but sometimes it takes a hardship for us to realize what's really important.
I personally never had any type of joint surgery, butI did have a liver transplant in '04 so I know how much fun surgery is.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
