New Handi Owner - help with model/year

What a great forum! I just purchased a Handi with a 223 bull barrel and 12ga barrel in a soft case. The factory tells me it is manufactured in 1995 according to the serial number. The limited edition medallion embedded in the walnut stock says Limited Edition H&R 1993-1871. Why the difference in dates?

The stock probably was on a different rifle at one time, stocks are easily swapped out, ALL H&R/NEF single shot rifles and shotgun stocks can be interchanged except for forends on some shotguns.  ;) The limited edition stocks are fairly common, they use to make them just about every year for some distributor or another.
