H&R's 96-99 Frame Barrel Fitting Policy
« on: July 18, 2009, 01:55:42 PM »
Recently a member was told that his frame didn't qualify for an accessory barrel, 45-70 if I remember correctly, can't find the thread, but I finally got word back on it, 96-99 frames will not be fitted with most accessory barrels, don't have the details yet, but it is confirmed, I'll post more on it when I get it.  :-\

Odd. A 45-70 comes on some low hp frames. Annoying since I have an NN.

Yup, the policy hasn't been published yet, when it is I'll post more details.

Tim

well I called back today and they said that between 96 and 99 they outsourced some of the manufacturing of frames. some of them are made of diffrent metals. They said they are strong enough for the barrel on them but the metal on the new barrels is diffrent it wont work with the outsourced frames. I dont see how the metal on the barrel matters. They will not put any rifle barrel on my frame not even 357 or 44 mag. They had already shipped it back to me when I talked to them.
