Ahhhh Israel was set up not by the British even though we got the job of policing it  ::) but the United Nations as I understand it. Pakistan was founded after Indian independance. We did create Kuwait it seems and that was done due to tribal conflict. That region was taken from the Turks after WW1 if I recall correctly.

I think the biggest mistake of the Empire was trying educate the natives  ::) look where that got us. The likes of Mugabe  :'( Education can be a dangerous thing. Mugabe is a monster who depsite his university education claims that Britian is soley to blam fro all Ugandas problems even the epidemics spreadign through his country due to lack of basics such as clean water and sanitation, lack of food as he has destroyed the farms, yep it's ALL Britians fault   :D

I suggest you check your rules on that, it seems that being English is a problem  ??? ::) if I was Irish no problems or Scottish it seems but being English and of a certain age I am not desirable to the US. We did look into it a few years ago and my getting a Green card is very difficult. I guess it the irish descendants in Congress and the other HoR that don't want us, still hurting over Northern Ireland I suppose  ::).

What do you do for a living? You could try H1B.

The only "big bore" rifle I have is a .444 Marlin, and it is a bit of a handful to shoot off a bench.  I get around that by practicing offhand!  It's my walking around woods rifle anyway, so most of my shots are likely to be standing up in the first place.

Shooting offhand, I just relax and let the recoil roll all 220 pounds of me back a few inches.  Almost how I shoot single action revolvers.... just let the recoil roll it back and cock the hammer on the downstroke.  It may not be proper form, but it works for me.
