Thanks for the advice. I'll try the greybeard auction forum before I try Gunbroker.
My RWS 350 Magnum is a pretty nice air rifle, in my opinion. Mine is .177 caliber. I noticed that it does jump around a bit more than the mod. 52 (doesn't feel quite as solid) when I fire it, but that is because of a stronger spring, and also the 52 has that big thick barrel and the muzzle break (basically a big weight) at the end. So far I have about 100 shots through the 350, and it is pretty accurate. I haven't shot it from a bench, but from a squatting position I can reliably hit an 8" circle at 75yds. Granted I do need to practice some more but it definitely shows promise. At 25 yds I can keep them all in a plastic coke bottle cap with the Crow Magnums.
I have a chronograph, so I tested the rifle with a large variety of pellets. I found I get the best accuracy with the Beeman Crow Magnum, Kodiak, and the RWS Super-Mag (a wadcutter). My favorite is the Crow Magnum, at 9.0 grs I get 1010 fps at 5 feet from the muzzle. The Kodiak, at 10.2 grs, gives me 940 fps. This is the best one for long range, as it is a heavy pointed pellet. The RWS Super-Mag is 9.3 grs and gives me 960 fps.
The highest velocity pellets I tried were the Gamo Match and RWS Super-H-point, at 1130 and 1125 fps. The Gamo was very accurate but shot 4" high at 25 yds; the Super H Point was all over the paper, not accurate at all. Incidentally, I noticed a supersonic crack with these two pellets, the rest of them stay sub-sonic.
These all work out to 20 to 21 ft-lbs, it seems to work pretty well for crows. I shot a potato on end with the Super Mag; it made potato wedges.
I did try most of these pellets with the Mod. 52 as well; it gave velocities 100 to 130 fps lower than the 350 Mag.
Sorry for the long post but you asked for details!
