Golf Ball Mortar: Take two!

With the 4th fast approaching, any my brother due to be home on leave during that week, I decided to make another golf ball mortar.  The first one functioned fine, but I wanted one with larger wall thickness and that looked more visually appealing.. 

I still need to finish the adjusting screw, and decide on a finish.. I'm thinking probably black oxide..

I've got Rust-oleum Black Hammered spray paint on mine. It's a very durable finish.
That's a very nice mortar you've got there. Congrats.

WELCOME to the board!

Clean lines in coehorn-modern style.  Good machining and finish.

Might want to beef up the fasteners to bolts or lag screws holding the wood together.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.
