I don't hunt nearly as much as some others here. I seldom take trips for hunts. The last trip was to a hunting preserve to get my son familiar with spot and stalk hunting. For one thing, it's expensive. For another thing, I like hunting trips as the spice of life rather than as a steady diet.
I'm thinking of a meat hunt for cow elk in perhaps Wyoming, or maybe a meat moose hunt in Ontario. These are both destinations I can drive to, and bring meat home from.
I haven't hunted Canada and frankly don't like their firearms policies, so consequently I don't want to give them any money unless there's a really good reason to do it.
I have hunted Wyoming and thoroughly loved it. I'd definitely consider going with the same outfitter I had before (on a pronghorn hunt) and do the cow elk hunt.
I'd also like to do a meat buffalo hunt, but frankly don't know what to do with that much meat.
I'd like something a bit more exotic than whitetail deer, I've hunted hogs and liked it, but don't want to do it again for a while.
Can you recommend a good drive-to hunt for somebody living in Minnesota?
Have you had any experience with the Canadian moose hunts?
