Ann Coulter had a really good piece a while back where she nailed the problem dead on. The problem is when conservatives try to run a moderate to "make peace" with everyone. Regan wasn't moderate. We need a true conservative not one that says he is and just happens to be what the Republican party puts out there. IMHO McCain should have been put out of the Rep.party a long time ago then the election this time wouldn't have been an issue.
Romney will never get in, he's not an insider.

I hope Sarah picks a super conservative running mate and whips butt. Sarah/Nugent, Sarah/Newt?

Hows about Sara and Chuck Norris?

Sounds good, now if they can run with a Conservative party.

Palin doesn't stand a chance. The problems will be too big for her and the public will know it.

" Conservatism is not dead "

No , but it is in the Republican party. Over the last eight years that they had both houses off congress and the president, I would call  and E-Mail my senators and ask why they had not secured the borders and deported the illegal aliens here.
The answer was always the same we can't do it because of the liberal republican senators from the north east. They would not go along. So they accomplished nothing! If the democrats said boo or you are beinmg mean spirited , they ran like turkeys!
So what is the point of supporting the people that can and will do nothing about the problems that are killing this country!  Even worse after getting whiped in the last two elections because they ran no one a conservative could stand, they are moving further to the left! I think the party is finished! At lest for mr they are until they return to being conservative!

One thing to consider is the middle , not the extream right or left elects the govt. like it or not that's the way it is . Palin appeals to the average American , that's what sacares the pants off the media. As far as not getting elected because the job is over her head goes - not a problem it surely wouldn't be the first time someone got elected without experince now would it ? one only need look at the last election !

Ronald Reagan wasn't in the middle, and he got elected twice. My opinion is,that's why the Rep. are in the spot their in now. They need to look for someone that is much more conservative. They're bending over backwards to kiss everyone's butt. What they need is someone to kick some butt. This country needs a wake up call. If we're lucky, Newt or Romney might see the handwriting on the wall. But even they will have to toughen up. gypsyman

Regan was not far right and was what i consider middle right right of center for sure but not far right . Bill Clinton was left of center mostly but still in the middle .

Assumming that we still have a country when the next election rolls around and that we still will have the right to vote, I want someone new like Dan Lungren, or Liz Cheney (if she's old enough).  Liz might have to wait a few more years, but I'd be very happy with Sarah and Dan.
