myronman, not when it comes to strength and longevity.
I have a Taurus .357 that's having some problems.  The cylinder is getting sloppy, and once in a while it will miss turning the cylinder all the way to lockup.  Granted, it's about 15 years old, but I have revolvers that have had 5+ times as many rounds through them that still operate as they should.  Heck, I've got Smith & Wesson and Ruger handguns that still work like new that have been around a lot longer than Taurus has.
Now, I'm not doggin' Taurus.  They've come a long ways in the firearms industry in a short time.  I've even heard that they've improved their quality some over the years, but from what I've seen they still don't hold up like some of the others.  I just see them as a decent quality, affordable gun.
Kinda like cars;  if you want something that will get the job done when the going gets rough then you buy a heavy duty truck (Ruger);  if you want something fast and easy to handle then you buy a sports car (S&W).  Sure, a 2 WD Nissan PU will get the job done most of the time, but.... :-)
