I've had the hots for a BC Classic for several weeks and today was the day. I found a close out on them at Whittaker Guns for $229. A deal too good to pass up. I bought a scope base but forgot to pick up a hammer extension. The hammer needs a little trimmed off the spur to clear the scope but over all it looks like a fun and handy little rifle. I can't wait to start reloading, gotta pick me up some brass and bullets, primers too if I can find some. Time to start reading the FAQs. I'm already thinkin' about a .357 barrel. I'll probably be askin' all kinds of questions! Tom

Tom, are you talking about a new Buffalo Classic?  If you are, I'd go back and buy all of them at that price.  You're not buying them, you're stealing them.  What calibers are they?

Best of luck with the new shooter.

Pete

Yes sir, brand new .45 Colt. He only had 3 left.  I tried to get my wife to pick one up too but she had other ideas.

Where is Whitaker Guns?
If he's carrying a singleshot, don't expect a warning shot!

Welcome to GBO Tom.
Sounds like you got a nice deal, have fun with the 45. I know most here that do have them love them.

I've discovered one thing already, reloading supplies for the 45 Colt are plenty scarce. Jacketed bullets are pracically non existant!!

Tommy ,

You just need to do some looking around to find your 45 LC supplies .. Back when the caliber was first introduced in the 1800's the diameter was .454 , Which yes that diameter is a little hard to find ... Good thing is that most current manufacturers of this caliber are using .451 -.452 diameter barrels so any of your stock 45 acp bullets will work ... Now my A. Uberti lever action didnt like anything lighter then 250 gr .. Did real well with the Speer gold-dot 250 gr ( flying astrays ;) ) , I reload 250 gr cast round nose flat-points from Missouri bullet company for the rifle now  ,
Heres their site   http://www.missouribullet.com/results.php?category=5&secondary=14    And another place to check for your supplies is a local place to me in Arkansas heres their sites address  http://www.bluestarbrass.com/catalog/ofpbrass.htm

Those are some good guys down there at Blue-Star ... Have gone out there a number of times .. Didnt check to see if they had any 45 LC brass in when i was there last a couple weeks ago , But i know the for sure had they bullets in stock .. And they have no primers available.

  Hope this helps you out,
