The 44 Magnum is my favorite I guess, it can do a lot of different chores, is accurate, not too loud and cheap to shoot with cast bullets. The 223 SL is a fine shooter, light and just good to have around as a varmint gun. The 30-06 is also a good shooter, really flexible as to loadings and I think after trying all the barrel variations the standard 22 inch barrel seems about right to me. The 243 youth barrel has turned out to be a good shooter but it sure is loud! I have a bit more testing to do with it, it is nice and short. On the varmint end it won't do anything the 223 can't and I would far rather have the 30-06 or 44 mag barrel on the frame if one of the big hogs on our lease happens by. Actually the 243 barrel is probably best as a loaner to a recoil sensitive type with tough ears.
