Pride Can you Explain it too me
« on: May 06, 2009, 02:56:31 AM »
I have observed that it perfectly acceptable to have "Black Pride", "Hispanic Pride", and "Gay Pride", but, if someone says they have "White Pride"  are  they a racist. I say YES they will Be Named, Would someone explain why this is.

See, the rule is that it's all right to be a sexist, or a racist as long as you are not a male and white.  Well, I guess you could be both as long as you are a sissy and don't like your own color.

I make my own rules and I don't give a crap what others think.  Life is too short to worry about what others think.

It would seem that the whole thing is in fact counter racist .
This should really be over in America now that we have a President that can trace his origin to several races of people , proving no race is held back in America any more !
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

It's a technique used to gain influence. The classic case in the US is what's left of the American Indians. The only influence they have now is through politically correct avenues. I wish it were otherwise, but that's the way it works. The main criterion for gaining this type of influence is to be a part of a minority, or a group that can be cast as a minority.

Amen!

It is a matter of power, fear, and bullying.  Race is a continued problem in America because white people are afraid to discuss the issus for fear of being taged as a racist.  Many blacks recgonize this...timidity...and take advantage of it just as any bully in the school yard will pick on the weak.  The only thing you can do worse than appear weak is to raise above the rest and ask a viable question... They are then on you like a dog and as you look around for support from your own people they are usually in full flight with their tail tucked between their legs.  This is about 48 hours before you get a letter of recrimination for the NAACP and a summons from the ACLU.

The fact that issues can't be discussed in the light of day proves that there are still issues.  From where I stand, the door has swung the other way and I (as a white male) am now held to the higher standard.  So long as the issues remain under the table to boil will go unlanced and will eventually explode.
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

The lefties are passing a hate crime law that will include child molesters to be preotected! but they will not allow veterans to included in that legislation.  ???

I am convinced everyday that this country is getting turned upside down by these people so I have to agree with Magooch.

There is a quiet but (I think) huge movement under way in which more and more people are discovering they are in fact a member of one or more minority groups as defined by the federal government.  Most states do not police race entered on a birth certificate so if your family is having a child that is the best place to begin.  There is no blood quantum test nor does anyone need to identify with the race for which they are supposedly more than 50% by blood.

I am told that people are having their own birth certificates changed but I do not know if that is true.  Joining groups that are identified by a particular federally recognized minority group is also effective.  Remember, bureaucrats administering race-based programs want larger programs so there may not be much policing of new entrants.  Some employers are likely to see some advantage in having their employees say they are minorities (so why would they question any claim).

There is no need for a person to have any particular appearance in order to qualify as a minority member.  I have seen this myself over the years.  Remember, there are many advantages to being a minority (including full tuition, room and board at many colleges) but no downside whatsoever.  Possibly, if we all become a member of a minority group there will then be a level playing field for us and our families.  I do not see any alternative for people who now say they are white since Obama will now be appointing justices.

The Irish seem to have figured this one out. Don't even mention race, mention ethnicity. So if you and ten Norwegian friends decide to get together and have a Japanese pride event, then everything will be cool. Everything's cool as long as you distance yourself from America in some way.

If you call yourself Gay Japanese Square Dancers For Social Justice, it's even better.

People won't even see that you're not the least bit Japanese looking.

They're actually performing in Waikiki next week; I'll shout, "Yah, Ole!" and see who trips.

Seriously though, to get a permit to acquire on this rock you have to fill out a ream of paperwork, to include race/ethnicity. The options are a hundred different varieties of asian, african, hispanic, white and other. I saw South Pacific Islander, so I thought North Atlantic Islander might shorten the waiting period down from 14 days to something reasonable.

And I'm a Scotsman, thank you very much  ;D

We have to demand of our people representing us in Congress that these new groups qualify as minorities.  That way special government business contracts will be available to you, your children and grandchildren will qualify for special scholarships (without giving up eligibility for any other scholarship of course), and your employers will obtain direct benefit from your status.  Bureaucrats have bigger programs.  This is a so-called win-win.  I certainly believe that Celts should qualify exactly as people with Hispanic names do qualify whether their families came directly from Spain or passed through Mexico (or even Brazil which is Portugese but still qualifies as Hispanic under US rules).  Cajuns should certainly qualify and I am sure many already do by saying they have some African blood (whether or not in fact they actually do) or American Indian blood.  Italians should qualify (we have never had an Italian president but now have a black one).  Norwegians, Fins and Swedes should qualify as a minority.
