I have an opportunity to purchase a Model 99 in 300 Savage for $289. The gun is 95+ %. The serial number puts production shortly after WWII. Is it worth the cash? Thanks to all!

Well the purchase has been made! The blueing looks 99%. I don't think it was shot much. It looks like it sat in a gun cabinet for a long time. From my research it looks like a 99EG. It's my first lever gun. I've got quite a few bolt guns, but none as pretty as this. I literally just looked at it for a good half hour when I got it home. It is a mechanical marvel. It would cost a fortune to make one today. No wonder they don't make them anymore. Believe it or not, I picked it up at the Gander Mountain store that just opened in my area. Most of their used guns appear overpriced to me. I am not complaining about this one. I can't wait to take it out for a test spin this weekend. :-)
