I don't own the single shot, but do own a Rossi Puma with 24" barrel in 357. It's one of 5 rifles I own in that caliber and they will certainly put down a deer, I have taken several with 357 out of the rifles. With the right bullet, I have read of people taking hogs with them as well. Get on the hog hunting site here on GBO do some reading on that. Get one and you may have to get another for yourself! Hodgdon LilGun is a very good powder for the 357 if you reload as is H-110 or W296. DP
