Puma 92 .357
« on: April 24, 2009, 03:13:35 AM »
I found a used Legacy Puma 92 in .357 yesterday. It has the 16" barrel and if the previous owner did shoot it, it wasnt very much because it is very clean and the internals show no wear marks that I could see.

It was $425 bucks so I put it in layaway.

I have been wanting one for a while to go with my .357 Blackhawk and SP101.

How do you guys like yours?
Hi NSA! Can you see how many fingers I am holding up?

They are great little guns and the .357 is the "perfect" caliber for the '92 regarding size and weight. I have the same 16" model with a stainless barrel and it will feed just about any round you put through it (mine will even feed .38 wad cutters!).

For $425 you couldn't have gone wrong with that.  I would have done the same thing.

Mine is not a carbine but has the 24" octagonal barrel , never been happier with a rifle - has feed everything I put through it , the trigger is excellant , action smoothed up well , handles and points well , lightweight , accurate and I am just learning how versatile the .357 mag is in a rifle by beginning to handload .

If it was a economical option the only modification other than the Skinner dovetails peep sight I fitted would be a short through lever kit , I am not into cowboy action or blasing away after game so I'm not that bothered by the wide lever action of the 92 .

I also have the 24" oct. barrel 357, like it alot.  The extra barrel weight lets it "hang" on the target better than the short barrel for me.  DP
