Thats at 100 yards.  I don't think it does to bad for an inexpensive rifle.  And it has never jammed.

Here are some groups I shot out of a 1983 Glenfield 30A (Marlin 336 inexpensive version).  These were with 170 gr Federal factory loads.  I have since developed a 170 gr hand load that tightened up the groups a bit.

My other Marlin 30-30 prefers 150 gr bullets.

Again, you don't mention the range at which you fired these groups?

It's marked on the targets, the 2 end ones are 100 yards, the middle 50 yards. It's about a 1 1/2" group at 100 yards, and just about half that at 50.  I think for an lever action with factory ammo, it's doing rather well.  I had a couple groups around 1 1/4" with the handload I am using with H-4895.
