I'm new to the forum and want to congradulate you guys on a great forum. I have owned my Handi for 2 years and I'm afraid I'm becoming addicted. The value, simplicity and options are just too great to ignore. I'm going to be sending it back for some barrels and I thought I would get your opinions to see if I'm heading in the right direction.
I own a 2 year old, bought summer 07', H&R Handi Rifle SB2 in .444 Marlin with the Monte Carlo wood stock. I have a Nikon 3x9x50MM Buckmasters scope on it. As long as you don't over heat the barrel it shoots sub 1" groups off a lead sled at 100yds using factory Hornady Lever Evolution 265gr ammo.
One question I have is has anyone had theirs fitted for a 12ga shotgun barrel? The 12ga 3 1/2" barrel that takes the choke system looks very enteresting. Could be usefull for turkey, yotes, etc. I currently don't own a SG in anything but 2 3/4" and neither will accept larger shells.
The other upgrades I'm looking to get done at the same time are;
223 Bull Barrel (varmit and plinking)
308 Bull Barrel (good performance and readily available)
35 Whelen Barrel (just gotta have one if available)
12ga 3 1/2 barrel with choke system (turkey etc.)
Thumbhole stock in Cinnamon (very nice look)
Factory trigger job to 3 1/2 pounds (7 pounds currently)
In future years I may also add;
Muzzleloader barrel
30-06 barrel
any other caliber that seems cool
Alot for an inexpensive single shot I agree but I'm building a legacy gift to give to my 12yo son for his 16th birthday or highschool graduation. He is trying to claim my rem 700 that was the first rifle I bought for myself but not until I have gone to the happy hunting ground.

Again opinions are welcome.
