First barrel fitting results !!!
« on: February 13, 2009, 03:35:46 PM »
 :)
I shot the .223 bull barrel I bought from Jimbo for the first time tonight. Well after 3 shots to get it on the paper and 3 more to get it 1" high at 100 yrds I tried for a group.  The shooting was done off my pickup hood in my yard at 20 degrees and about 15 mph winds with the target stuck in a snowbank ! In these conditions it shot the last 3 shot group in a vertical string all touching @ .648 outside to outside right above the bullseye. It took a lot of forearm work to get the 223 bull to fit the way I wanted it but looks like it was worth it !! I was shooting one of my favorite .223 loads of a 40 gr. v-max over 26 gr of AA2230 with cci primers and lake city match brass.
I have to say the FAQ"s are the best! Thanks to everyone that contributed. Oh and thanks to Jimbo for the great barrel !!

Now that will never do , just send that poor shooting barrel my way and I'll use it as a garden stake for beans to climb up .  ;D  ;D  ;D  ;D

Don't you just love when a plan comes together , nice shooting .  ;)

Yep Mark, I told you it was a good one!

Now excuse me while I go kick myself!

Just kidding, and seriously I'd rather see someone have it that will use and enjoy it, and put it to good use.

Oh by the way, what's a snow bank?   We don't have those kind of banks here in south Texas!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.
