6mm-06
« on: February 16, 2009, 12:09:52 PM »
I was looking at the TC site listing Encore barrels and saw that a 6mm-06 was listed.  Sounds like something with long range, high speed, low drag capabilities. Can someone in the know give me some poop on it or a link to the balistics?   What would a similar commericial cartridge be?  Thanks, Gary

There are several versions of the "6mm-06", some have more capacity than others.   Most will approximate the .240 Weatherby, .243 WSSM or the popular long range wildcat 6mm-.284.   Be certain to find out what the barrel's twist rate is if you want to shoot long, low-drag bullets.  The standard 6mm twist of 1:10" won't do it.  Look to the 6mm-.284 shooters for the best info on long-range 6mms.
