The making of a new Handi Holic
« on: February 13, 2009, 05:17:35 PM »

Today at work I went back to a location where I hadn't been in about a year. I've know the manager there for quite a while. Several years ago we were talking and he was telling me about his son who took his first buck with an H&R .410. I was telling him that the .410 was really a little light for what he was using it for. While it would work within certain limits those limits couldn't be expanded very much. I ended up selling him an NEF 20 ga. for his son to use for a really good price.
He told me today that his youngest son took his first buck this year. A 6 pt. that he took with a borrowed Handi in .223. Now I think he's sold. I told him about the barrel program and he was even more interested.

I just talked a boss at work to pick up the syn 22hornet at a local shop.  He was looking for a quieter varmit truck gun.  He wanted wood stock but fell in love with the little rifle when he went to ckeck it out.  I made the deal prettier by offering to reload his first 100 shells if he supplied the brass and bullets.  He can't wait to try it out.  I warned him of the sickness of course.  He says this is all he needs for now in a handi.  He's a smooth bore flintlock fan, but I'm certain he'll be calling me for the accessory barrel number! :D

Jerry

PS I'm gald he bought it, cause it had been killing me just sitting up their like that.  Wouldn't you know they stuck a 243 w/marlin scope right in its place.  The scope looks pretty clear at all 3-9 settings.....wheres my meds....
