Stock colours
« on: February 10, 2009, 06:04:42 PM »
OK, I am getting close to staining my self-built custom stock. I was wondering what colours people have seen out there and have liked. I enjoy being different so if anyone has any nice looking, stained stocks, I would liek to see some pics.

The wood I used was laminated Baltic Birch.

I like dark walnut colored wood tones and I also like gray colored stocks as well....<><....:)

In general, I like nice wood. its color is not as crytical to me. I have seen beautiful blonds and red tones as well as the dark figured walnuts.

I just did my stock with dark walnut because the specail walnut had dried up.

I will add that I will always have a very soft spot for deep bark, burl walnut with an oil finish...
