I was thinking that it would be cool to have a 243 superlight youth re-bored to 308 or 358 win and have it cut to a 17 inch bbl with a scout style mount. This not intended to be piratical but was curious if it was possible or if anyone else has allready done something similar ?

Why not just take a 308 bbl and cut it to 17" and put youth stock on it. You won't be saving that much # by using the superlite bbl. Kurt
