Need Colt SAA cylinder in .44 spl
« on: February 18, 2003, 03:27:52 PM »
Hey guys!  I have a 3rd Gen Colt SAA in 44-40.  I understand Colt used the same bbl dimentions for both 44-40 and 44 spl.  I would like to fit a .44 spl cylinder to this gun but I don't know where to find one.  Gun Parts Corp doesn't have any at this time.  And I don't have Mike Ventrino or Hank Williams Jr's e-mail address.  I have heard of someone offering newly manufactured ones but cannot remember who.  (it's the OLD thing!)  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.  44 Man

Try King's Gun Works in Glendale CA.  They have a website, http://www.kingsgunworks.com/  They do have a drawer full of cylinders....  I have a few Colt 3rds with both cylinders (I added the 44-40), and Colt does use the 44-40 bore for both guns. (As opposed to Ruger, who uses the 44Mag bore for both guns).
