Question for the smiths . . .
« on: January 21, 2009, 04:32:37 AM »
i'd like to fill in the screw holes in my barrel where the iron sights came off.  I've got metal studs in now, but I'd like to remove them and fill in with a substance that will "blue" like a rifle barrel so that it looks like there were never any iron sights at all (I shoot this rifle with a scope exclusively, and will never sell the rifle).  Any ideas?  Thanks

Thanks.  Looks like my smith has another job when he finishes rebarreling my Win. 94 into .38-55.  ;) I was hoping to find some type compound that I could use to fill in without outstripping my rather meager abilities.

Thanks, again.  I may give that a try.
