BC and 500 gr. PPB's?
« on: January 08, 2009, 07:06:05 PM »
OK, I know there are plenty of guys on here that had tried this already, so I'm asking for advise.
I REALLY want to load up some of Montana Bullet Works' 500 grain paper patched bullets in my .45-70 Buffalo Classic, using smokeless powder. I have read several threads about the short throats on these rifles. Will these bullets work without problems, or am I going to wind up seating them deeper than needed?

That all depends on what the finished patched diameter of the bullet is.

if your rifle is short throated like mine you will have to seat a 500grain bullet deep taking up powder space .if you would shoot a 450 grain sized at 452 /454 then pp i think you would be better off
never to much gun
