445 Supermag
« on: January 12, 2009, 04:27:44 PM »
Now that I have my 44 mag back I've been kickin' around the idea of reaming to Supermag. I searched back and read alot of threads about it and it sounds like reaming really helped the older 44's (mine is a 96 model year). Is the ammo available at most shops or is it special order stuff or what?? I like the idea of being able to shoot 3 different rounds in the same gun if the Supermag ammo is available at a decent price.

I think GBO sponsor REEDS AMMO has it.
I don't recal the price but I can tell you it is a lot cheaper than factory, if you can find factory!

Yupper, GBO sponsor Reed's carries it, other than that, I think it's handload only.

Pretty good prices...
Alot less than I thought it would be.

Now is there any problems with shooting specials and magnums after the ream job?
I would assume it will dirty up the chamber but other than that do the others still shoot well?

I forgot about DW ammo, Bullseye has a good price on it. BB doesn't make the 445SM yet, I noticed that last time I was there, but forgot about it too! :-[
